Kansas Inauguration Parties

A big party is being planned in Wichita on Jan. 20 to mark the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. Sean McDonald, chairman of the Obama Kansas Change Committee, said the committee is hosting an Obama Kansas Historical Inaugural Ball and several other events that day, beginning with a parade at 9 a.m. at 2137 N. Battin. The parade will be followed by a church service at 10 a.m., lunch at 11:45 a.m. and the watching of Obama's swearing-in ceremony at noon on big-screen televisions.
